This is the first western inspired painting I’ve ever done. A client friend hired me to do a painting of a picture she found online. As simple a subject matter as the original picture portrayed, this was one of the more challenging pieces I’ve done. Because the painting is “wide open”, I spent a considerable amount of time on the detail of the horses as well as the sky. The sky and horses, being on opposite ends of the frame give a needed balance.
