Gloomy weather, gloomy music

It seems like everytime there is gloomy winter weather, I’m immediately drawn in by Interpol. Their brooding, melancholy style has been tabbed by many music experts as Joy Division-esque. I see the similarities, but think they execute it much cleaner. Been a fan since their first album in 2001, Turn on the Bright Lights. Included below is their album cover, Our Love to Admire.

Great music to work to – Pelican

Their album, “What we all come to need” has been on constant rotation in my player. I’ve never really been that much into instrumental music, but these guys have it down. They’re the perfect blend of sludge and southern metal. Their sound is very similar to another of my favorite artists, Baroness. I can get caught up in this music for hours.
